A little less procrastination…

…a little more action! That’s just a concept so far, more of a rough plan than reality ^^

Where to start? Well tomorrow I’ll have spent a whole month down here!! Can you believe it? Craziness.

Now onto some pictures.

First of all, in my last post I teased you about the other idea I had when playing with the Sweet Kawaii set. (Nยฐ 1 was changing popsicles to easter bunnies) Voilร :

Uh yeah ^^ Meet “Birdie” a.k.a. the cute little candy from the Sweet Kawaii set (My Cute Stamps). I altered the stamped image (CS: SU Vanilla) by using a pen, making the mouth into a little pointy beak, and by drawing three little lashes on the left eye. I popped the image up with a dimensional, drew some legs and little curves to create movement of the wings.

All the patterned paper is from the Cosmo Cricket Girl Friday line, the label stamp is SU and the sentiment is from American Crafts. The ribbon is from the very lovely Kikki K. store in Auckland city ๐Ÿ™‚
If you have any question, feel free to leave a comment!

Second, I told you that I modeled – it was for a shoe company and yes, the picture was featured on a shoe retailer magazine (not on page one – even better: On the back cover!). It was also printed as a big poster and used on the company’s stand on the GDS (International Shoe Fair Dรผsseldorf):

Oh yes, those are my (gigantic) knees ^^
Whaddya think? ๐Ÿ™‚

Anyhow, if I find time I’ll post some photos I took in the last two weeks tomorrow!
Have a great day/night!!

Il n’y en a pas cent

… but today there are two posts!

Just because I promised to show you the baby album I made for my cousin and there’s a set of two cards to participate in another challenge. I tend to be a promise-keeper, see?! ๐Ÿ˜‰

First up the challenge: A Passion For Papertrey – Inspired by autumn. The Papertrey item is some of their Vintage Cream Topnotch Twill Ribbon. So pretty that I’ve just ordered another roll!

My cards were not only inspired by autumn, but also shamelessly CASEd from this card by Maren Benedict (third picture). When I saw this I was reminded of my poor unused “Haunted” Rubons sitting in my drawer. So I just had to play along!

Soooo, now you’re going to lay eyes on aforementioned album. It’s relatively small (6×6″) and I made it with a template from Amy Celona.

There’s too much product involved to list it all, but if you have a question, I’ll be happy to answer it!

Some details about the album:

– In the first small photo you can see two wax sheets with handmade embellishments. I made them so that my cousin can also embellish her photos after she’s put them into the album.

– The large areas covered with patterned paper are for photos and I included quite some journaling lines for notes and thoughts.

– The words on page 3 say “It’s a girl”.

– On the center page I’ve included a see-through pocket for something like a lock of hair or the hospital bracelet of the baby. Above it is a line for the calculated date of birth .

– In the label on the right flap of the center page it says “My name is” and below there’s space for details about the actual date of birth, time of birth, length, weight, hair and eyes.

– And on page six there’s another sheer pocket.

Whew what a lengthy post. Tell me how you like it, I’d really appreciate it!!
BTW the babys name is Mathilda and she’s super cute and super tiny ๐Ÿ™‚
It’s late, ta ta for now!

P.S. The title’s from the lyrics of “La Lettre” by singer extraordinaire Renan Luce.

I’m fine but I hear those voices at night sometimes

Sounds kinda dark, doesn’t it ๐Ÿ˜‰
The song is great though.

So as promised here is the stuff I made the day I got those adorable Sweet Kawaii stamps from My Cute Stamps. All in all they’re 8 cards and in todays “photo shoot” I made pictures of 17 cards in total. Hee. Here are the eight cards I made with the Sweet Kawaii set:

The general design ideas came from the cards I saw on Krystie Lee’s blog. If you have any questions on material or technique, don’t hesitate to ask! While playing with the set I noticed some things which I wrote down and will try some time later, if it works you’ll get pictures.

Btw I also tried to set up my sewing machine. Oh nightmare! It seems this thing is made from massive lead or something.

Another random note: tonight I dreamt of Craig Ferguson, he was driving (we were in Scotland, but before that I was in Spain with my mom… hmm…) and I was in the backseat and we were talking and then we were suddenly walking in the woods and Christa Miller (Jordan from Scrubs) was running past us and asking us whether we’ve seen somebody she was desperately looking for – and she had a rifle ๐Ÿ˜€
Yeah the guy who composes my dreams is actually on crack, you guessed it.

Anyway, gotta go. See yas!

P.S. I’m soon getting sweet sweet stuff in the mail, check it out @ Dana’s blog.
PPS.: The fabric in the pictures is from Heather Bailey’s Freshcut Collection.

Sofa so good

Yesterday I finally covered the lower part of my couch with the new fabric I bought. It’s striped, so it took quite some time to get everything straight and stapled – but! It’s finished and it looks so cool! I’ve had my old sofa for… oh ages and the pattern was so “90s” (ugh!). Now I just need to figure out how my new / old sewing machine works, then I can finish sewing the upper cover and voilร  – my couch will be as good as new! I’ll share a picture when everything’s done ๐Ÿ™‚

Now lookit what I got in the mail today…

sweet kawaii

Say “awwwwwwwww” ๐Ÿ˜‰
These are from My Cute Stamps and I think they’re indeed irresistibly cute! Those were also what I had in mind when I made the following card:

popsicle 1

The base is Basic Grey “Two Scoops – Very Berry Sundae”, the cherries are from SU!s Tart & Tangy Set. I inked them up with Real Red and Old Olive markers, stamped them in a random pattern and used glue and Dazzling Diamonds to make them sparkle. My SU! Scallop punch took a bite out of the top right corner (5 out of the top layer, 4 out of the bottom layer to give it some 3D effect). The chipboard letters are Basic Grey as well and the ribbon bow is Stampin’ Up!.

Notice the Hello Kitty popsicle stick? Yep, I had Hello Kitty ice cream that day, then decided that the stick was too cute to simply throw it away. So I thoroughly cleaned it, let it dry and in the meantime made the card ๐Ÿ™‚ Whaddya think?

Have a great, sunny day!

P.S. Just to give credit: Popsicle cards were around everywhere last summer, my source of inspiration was Lynn Larson. I stumbled upon the “Sweet Kawaii” set because of the hilarious Krystie Lee and her adorable samples using the set: for example this card, that card and the onesie. She’s super talented, no?
