What’s in a name?

Well hello,

Didn’t expect me that early in the week, huh? ๐Ÿ™‚

Here we are with a card featuring the name of a very cute girl that was recently born.
A personalized card somehow makes for a more special statement – and what could be more special than the day a new life comes into this world?

This is another instance where I’ve made good use of my stash of snippets (Nยฐ 1 see here) – it’s mostly Crate Paper, with a tiny bit of Stampin’ Up and an old book page thrown in for good measure. If you look really closely, you’ll find the words “Liebe” (love), “Dank” (thanks) and “Freude” (joy) on there โค

The bottom of this landscape card was embossed using PTI’s Cane Print Impression Plate and everything was finished off with a banner cut with the Silhouette, a handwritten sentiment and a lovely bow using embroidery thread in a soft, buttery yellow complementing the book print “N” and the backgrounds of some of the other letters.

The alphabet dies are Papertrey Ink as well.

I’m entering this card in the “Task for Two Tuesday” Challengeย which is all about names this time – I know my card is missing a mascot, but it has all the other elements ๐Ÿ™‚

Cheerio!

It’s aliiive (cue Bach’s Toccata)

So, it’s been a while, huh? ๐Ÿ˜€

I have, in fact, not vanished from the face of the earth. I have simply not really made a lot of cards and whenever I did, I forgot to take a picture (which means I was either last-minute or too lazy to take a decent one, let’s face it…).

Freelancing – which sounds so much more relaxed than it really is – has also meant that I have not been creating a lot or at all.

It seems I have now found some of my mojo again and so without further ado, here is a new card I recently made:

It’s always good to have a masculine birthday card on hand – and wouldn’t you know it, this one is already on its way to the recipient!

The recipe is easy – some pale green CS from Artoz, a WRMK embossing folder, steel dies are Kesi’Art (Feuille Edwin) and Papertrey Ink (Birthday), Savvy Stamps stamp (Avery Elle Fog ink) plus some Studio Calico Mister Huey’s in Mint Julep and Lunchtray. Topped it off with some machine stitching and that was all.

I have to say I am on a bit of a roll with cardmaking again, which makes me really happy ๐Ÿ™‚

So stay tuned, because there are quite a few more creations I made (and keep making) that I’d like to share with you in the weeks to come.

See ya!
