How are things in your neck of the woods?
Today I’ve got a cute and girly card for you, using up some of those many, many border strips I’m sure most of you paper crafters have lying around en masse.
So I decided to finally utilize some of the heaps of border strips and cuts I have, and to do that I first sorted them roughly into three categories: “masculine“, “feminine” and “neutral“. As a cardmaker, these are the categories most cards will fall into.
Got pink or glitter, butterflies and bows?
That instantly says “feminine”.
Got blue and green, texture and a cleaner design?
That might give your card a more “masculine” feel.
With this one, I first placed some border strips in a way that pleased me, then glued them down. Next, I cut a circle (Inside and Out Stitched Circle by Die-Namics, love that stitching!), sprinkled on some ink splatters (Mr. Hueys in Inky Black and Warm Calico) and glued some vellum underneath it. Using foam tape, some paper confetti in fun, coordinating colors and a piece of white cardstock, I turned it into a shaker window.
Yay for confetti!! *whee*
To finish it off, I added a “Congrats” (Studio Calico) die-cut from golden shimmer cardstock and added a bow with some of that lush Garn&Mehr bakers twine.
This card was then written and sent to my best friend for her birthday, because I thought it really matches her fun, playful personality and also she does love pink 🙂
Anyhow, that’s it from me for today – bye for now!
And always remember: Wherever you go, bring your own sunshine ❤
Have a lovely Sunday,
