It could be, perhaps, that his shoes were too tight.

Hey peeps,

You know that whole “sorry I haven’t blogged for so long yada yada yada haven’t fallen off the face of the earth but was so busy bla bla”, so I’m gonna spare you with that ๐Ÿ™‚
Instead, there’s some cards for you to look at and also a photo featuring a sheepy friend and canned tuna. Yes, you read that correctly.

First of all this one – especially for my friend Ngawini :

Baasley tracked this one down in a German supermarket, isn’t that neat? ๐Ÿ™‚ Give the byuuutiful furson a little cuddle from us ๐Ÿ˜‰
(if you’re not Ngawini or Amber and now therefore confused, look at the last picture from this post)

Anyhow, on to some cards I made recently (some events required those non-holiday cards):

This one was inspired by Kristina (who else, really ^^) and I put my Stampin’ Up Small Heart Punch to good use with some Early Bird PP.

The idea from this card stems from a creation by Kelly Maria a.k.a. LawnFawn (I would’ve linked the exact card [and my data says it was from April 2010] but I can’t for the life of me seem to find it on her blog). There’s some Nutmeg paper from Cosmo as well as Thickers by American Crafts.

And now last but not least a card I made for a friend’s birthday:

The stamped images are from Stampin’ Up. Paper and ink are Papertrey.

In the meantime, I am working e-v-e-r-yย  s-i-n-g-l-eย  day (and I have lectures, too, of course) which actually leaves no time for buying (let alone making!!) Christmas gifts, baking cookies or reading blogs and getting into the Christmas spirit, really. [Plus, I apparently have moved in with the Grinch himself, which might or might not explain the above title and which might or might not account for my lack of Christmas coziness {or even the illusion thereof}] But I did make some Christmas cards. And I will hopefully get to take a decent photo of the good ones before I send them out/ give them away.

That’s it from me for now, have a good week!

I don’t beg, I don’t borrow, I steal.

Nice lyrics, aye? And she can sing, too. NOT FAIR. ๐Ÿ˜‰

How’s your weekend been? Over here in autumnal Germany we did some planting, some pumpkin soup cooking and the odd translation thrown in to torture me for good measure. Gotta get my olde self back into shape for the semester, otherwise there won’t be any thesis-writing, but rather there’ll be my arch enemy called procrastination – and one thing is for sure: I can’t afford that.

I got two things to show you today: Firstly, I made some wedding invitation cards for a friend.

They had to be simple and mailable while being appropriate for the occasion. The cardstock & flower stamps are from Stampin’ Up, the alphabet is American Crafts, the ampersand is from Studio Calico. Ink was Staz-on Stone Grey as well as Berry Sorbet, Raspberry Fizzย  and Certainly Celery. The butterflies were punched from patterned paper by Basic Grey (Bittersweet), Cosmo Cricket (Early Bird) and October Afternoon (Cherry Hill).ย  The two lower corners were rounded using the Corner Chomper from We R Memory Keepers. That’s all there is to it ๐Ÿ™‚

On a more christmas-sy note, I did totally not show you all the stuff I made for Christmas last year and since time is ticking away (only 2 more months, can you believe it? Soon I’ll be digging out Xmas carols again, wow) I though I’d start sharing some more.
Here are some ornaments I made using plain wooden trinkets from Ikea (I’ve not seen them there this year, unfortunately):

I made two or three more that I didn’t give away and still need to take pictures of. These are really inexpensive gifts and everyone loved them, so maybe you’ll give it a whirl this season. If you have any questions, let me know.

Oh well, I’ll better get some rest, got early lectures tomorrow.
See you!!

A little less procrastination…

…a little more action! That’s just a concept so far, more of a rough plan than reality ^^

Where to start? Well tomorrow I’ll have spent a whole month down here!! Can you believe it? Craziness.

Now onto some pictures.

First of all, in my last post I teased you about the other idea I had when playing with the Sweet Kawaii set. (Nยฐ 1 was changing popsicles to easter bunnies) Voilร :

Uh yeah ^^ Meet “Birdie” a.k.a. the cute little candy from the Sweet Kawaii set (My Cute Stamps). I altered the stamped image (CS: SU Vanilla) by using a pen, making the mouth into a little pointy beak, and by drawing three little lashes on the left eye. I popped the image up with a dimensional, drew some legs and little curves to create movement of the wings.

All the patterned paper is from the Cosmo Cricket Girl Friday line, the label stamp is SU and the sentiment is from American Crafts. The ribbon is from the very lovely Kikki K. store in Auckland city ๐Ÿ™‚
If you have any question, feel free to leave a comment!

Second, I told you that I modeled – it was for a shoe company and yes, the picture was featured on a shoe retailer magazine (not on page one – even better: On the back cover!). It was also printed as a big poster and used on the company’s stand on the GDS (International Shoe Fair Dรผsseldorf):

Oh yes, those are my (gigantic) knees ^^
Whaddya think? ๐Ÿ™‚

Anyhow, if I find time I’ll post some photos I took in the last two weeks tomorrow!
Have a great day/night!!

In All I Do

Hey there!
How are you doing?

Time for an update: I’ve got all the paperwork ready, all I need to do the next three days is: packing. Which means packing all the stuff inside and around my furniture into boxes. And of course, in the end, packing my huge suitcase. As mentioned, I am allowed 30 kg plus 7 kg hand luggage – I have no idea whether this will work out!
{Note: When listening to this album from Dick Brave and the Beackbeats, packing seems to go much quicker and more easily}

On Friday my brother and my mom will come to the airport, really happy about that.
Yesterday I said goodbye to Buck and my friends…
I’m getting more and more giddy with each passing day, but at the moment it all still feels absolutely surreal ๐Ÿ™‚

Here are two cards for you, both CASEs from the fabulous recent work from my favourite paper crafter Kristina Werner.

For this first card, I tried to mimic the background using the solid Journaling Lines from Papertrey Ink stamped in Dark Chocolate on Lemon Tart CS.

The sentiment had to fit in with the purpose of the card, so I chose “bye” instead of the word “hi” Kristina used in her original card.

Those are fabric thickers, btw. Too fabulous!
The patterned paper is from the Basic Grey Wisteria Collection and the ribbon is PTI Berry Sorbet.

Next up, I saw Kristina’s super cool retro flower card and I knew that I had to try making one as well – using what I have on hand. So I took my Journaling Lines stamp set and stamped those (partly only inking one or two lines) with Staz-On Stone Grey ink.

I layered two Sprites Nยฐ 3 Flowers with a Rayher brad and added some Vintage Cream twill ribbon to finish it off.
[CS: Stampin’ Ups Neutrals, Cosmo Cricket Early Bird]

One thing I haven’t even told you: On Monday I was a model. Yes, you read that correctly. Now of course I’ve never done that before, but I think the result is quite okay ๐Ÿ˜‰ The picture will be printed on page 1 of a magazine for shoe retailers. {I know I’m a tease, but if you’re interested in seeing the picture, just ask}
And I got a skirt! It’s super cute and you’re going to see it soon – it’ll be featured in about every second picture of me (that’s how much I love it) ๐Ÿ˜‰

Anyhow, there are still loads of books and whatever that need to go into one or another cardboard box.
Have a great day and leave me a comment ๐Ÿ˜‰

Leaving on a jet plane

Hey there!
How are you? It’s been way busy over here, for the last weeks I’ve been running around like a headless chicken and there’s no end in sight. Well actually, that’s untrue. The end will come on February 19th which will apparently be the day I get on a plane and fly far, faaaar away (Auckland and Heidelberg are precisely 18,244 km apart). So, now you know. I still don’t know how I am supposed to survive without my crafting stuff though (there’s a limit of 30 kg plus 7 kg hand luggage). Not for more than two weeks… and certainly not for five months.

Meet today’s card, it’s a sweet mix of Cosmo Cricket and PTI goodness. Rustic Cream cardstock, some Early Bird patterned paper, clear embossed polka dots and BG chipboard letters – voilร !

Anyway, gotta go, still lots of work to do, people to call, forms to fill in… you get the picture.
See yas!

EBKTS Challenge

Hey there!
Just a quick post to show you the card I made for the current EBKTS Challenge.

I’m sorry for the crappy lighting, it’s about half past ten over here and snow keeps falling outside. Maybe I’ll exchange the picture tomorrow (if the sun is shining or even if there’s any light at all…).

The challenge was to use wrapping paper, which seems really appropriate after the holidays.
The ruffles on this card are therefore made of IKEA wrapping paper. The card base is PTI Rustic Cream, rhinestones are from BG, the patterned paper is from Cosmo Cricket. The tree stamp is PTI as well while the sentiment is American Crafts. Inks are Palette Noir and VersaColor Sage.

BTW this is the last card my poor little broken Corner rounder punch was used for. It will rest now and the indeed very cool Corner Chomper will fill its place. Such a great tool, I’m all excited… ๐Ÿ™‚

Anyhow, thanks for looking, have a good night!

P.S.: The polls for choosing your favourite Xmas card are still open!

ETA: I’ve updated the pictures from the card, they’re still not perfect, but way better ๐Ÿ™‚

Il n’y en a pas cent

… but today there are two posts!

Just because I promised to show you the baby album I made for my cousin and there’s a set of two cards to participate in another challenge. I tend to be a promise-keeper, see?! ๐Ÿ˜‰

First up the challenge: A Passion For Papertrey – Inspired by autumn. The Papertrey item is some of their Vintage Cream Topnotch Twill Ribbon. So pretty that I’ve just ordered another roll!

My cards were not only inspired by autumn, but also shamelessly CASEd from this card by Maren Benedict (third picture). When I saw this I was reminded of my poor unused “Haunted” Rubons sitting in my drawer. So I just had to play along!

Soooo, now you’re going to lay eyes on aforementioned album. It’s relatively small (6×6″) and I made it with a template from Amy Celona.

There’s too much product involved to list it all, but if you have a question, I’ll be happy to answer it!

Some details about the album:

– In the first small photo you can see two wax sheets with handmade embellishments. I made them so that my cousin can also embellish her photos after she’s put them into the album.

– The large areas covered with patterned paper are for photos and I included quite some journaling lines for notes and thoughts.

– The words on page 3 say “It’s a girl”.

– On the center page I’ve included a see-through pocket for something like a lock of hair or the hospital bracelet of the baby. Above it is a line for the calculated date of birth .

– In the label on the right flap of the center page it says “My name is” and below there’s space for details about the actual date of birth, time of birth, length, weight, hair and eyes.

– And on page six there’s another sheer pocket.

Whew what a lengthy post. Tell me how you like it, I’d really appreciate it!!
BTW the babys name is Mathilda and she’s super cute and super tiny ๐Ÿ™‚
It’s late, ta ta for now!

P.S. The title’s from the lyrics of “La Lettre” by singer extraordinaire Renan Luce.

My precious

Today there is some serious eye candy I have to show you!
But first of all I wanted to thank you for all of the sweet comments about my new haircut – thanks girls, you really made me smile big-time!!

This week my postman brings quite lovely stuff – first those divine ATCs from our swap and then today my new earrings and bracelet (fresh from the States). I bought them on Etsy from GlitzGlitter – super nice and thoughtful (she even asked me the size of my wrist to adjust the bracelet without any extra fees). The jewellery had a great packaging – safe AND pretty!

Bountiful Harvest Bracelet

Eclipse Oxidized Black Pearl Earrings

I didn’t take those pictures, they’re both from the store.
I’m in love with my new jewellery and will wear it a lot! Thanks for everything (and also for the super fast shipping), CeeBee!

As I can’t seem to make short posts, here’s a small list of tutorials I recently found and adore.
Such clever people!

Fancy Christmas Wreath (seems like a lot of work, but soo pretty)
Handcut Title for Layouts (uuh gotta try this)
Easy Folded Gift Boxes (I think this is what most of my Xmas presents will come in)
Spring Ruffle Top (I wish I could sew like that. Want.)
Scrap Flower (are these fun or what?!)
Crochet Flower (this week a friend showed me how to make them, heehee)

Hope you find something you like!
Now to finish, meet today’s card & have a nice evening!

Kraft CS from PTI, Rubons by Cosmo Cricket

ETA: The bracelet was found via Moxie Fab World, thank you so much, Cath!

This Scene Is Dead

I’ve been visiting my mom for a week now, that’s why I’ve been missing in action.

On Thursday we had the most beautiful, hot summer day which we spent lying in the sun and swimming in a little lake near my hometown. We went to the cinema twice (one was 3D, really cool) and for Sunday Buck and I were invited to a garden party (I made our special cheese & onion bread).

I’m back now, went to work today, also went to the vet with Buck (he has a bit of a cold and therefore received an injection, but he was a good boy and didn’t cry ;)) and now I’m here to share a card I made – some Cosmo Cricket sweetness. Aren’t these bunnies just the cutest?!

Today, I am happy

Hey peeps!

Yet another post, because I want you to leave a comment – not at this blog-o (although that would be nice as well) but over at Cosmo Cricket.

They are donating a dollar to the food bank for every comment to this post.
Their goal is to donate $ 1000 – at the moment they are at slightly over 500 comments, so COME ON!! LET’S DO IT!

Helping to feed poor children & other people who are not as lucky as we are is just a click away!
Thank you!

P.S. I chose this title because today is the first day of the holidays! Woot woot! What a great day to do something for a good cause, dontchya think?

UPDATE: We’re at 726 comments, getting closer and closer! C’mon ladies!!
