Month of May – The Shopping Diet

Hey self, we gotta talk.

You see, I like you and stuff, but if you want “us” to work, there’s one thing that has to change. Like now. You already realized you’re a poor student?
So JUST. STOP. BUYING. THINGS now, will you?

Last month (over, thank goodness) you spent OVER 500 €!!!!!!! – ARE YOU CRAZY??
Well, I know you “needed” all these new things – the clothes, the lingerie, the shoes, the 2 video games, the new cellphone, the flight and I’m glad you treat yourself as you work really hard these days (for the first time in your life, huh?), but don’t overdo it.
I know that when you buy online and your VISA gets it all straight for you, it doesn’t feel like you’ve just spent a whole lot of money you don’t have.
But it’s gotta stop.

So this month you won’t:
– buy clothes
– buy shoes
– buy video games
– book flights
– buy CDs, books etc.
(exception: CD and flowers for Mother’s Day)

Otherwise, only things needed for university are accepted, and NO, shoes and clothes you’re gonna wear to class don’t count!
Now go to your room, young lady, and think about the money issues you got yourself into.

Your (bad) conscience
