Wedding Album – Part Two

Hey there 🙂
Today, as promised, I’ll show you the rest of the album from my last post.
Let’s start where we left off:

IMG_9164As you can see, I made a little banner using the fabric that also covers the outsides of the book. In between every page, there is some extra paper to account for the thickness of the photos that are going to be added to the album later. Thus, you avoid the spine being to thin and the book gaping wide open after filling it with your pictures.

The french newspaper lent itself perfectly for the occasion – the bride and groom had lived together in Paris for several years before they moved to Beijing later. On the left you can see a little pocket containing a tag for some secret journaling to be added. (Yes, the flower got a bit smashed, not a biggie.)

IMG_9170Stamping those butterflies and splattering Mr. Huey’s onto patterned paper produced some great results and was really fun. (Why yes, that ginormous splotch of pink was placed there intentionally, what did you think?!?!)

IMG_9176I don’t know if you know the feeling, but whenever I make an album for anyone, I’m always thinking: Ha, the whole paper-hoarding was good for something after all! 😀 (and therefore, I do not have “too much” paper, because duh! the next album could be needed really soon and then I’d better have all the supplies ready!)

IMG_9181 And the last page is mere embellishment (gotta have at least one of those, too!) and a little white tag in a glassine bag for the happy couple to include journaling about their special day.

Aaand that’s all 🙂 Again, a huge “thank you” to Tara Anderson for that marvelous inspiration. So, let me know if you have any questions and I hope to see you here again next week!

Have yourself a lovely weekend!

Wedding Album – Part One

Hey y’all!
How’s it? Hope you had a nice Easter holiday!

I’m just stopping by today to show you some photos of an album I made for a friend’s wedding but never got around to showing you.
So here it is, heavily inspired by the great Tara Anderson and her wedding album.

First off, the cover:

BildBild
It’s a japanese binding; the chipboard was covered in Heather Bailey Fabric and my favourite Maya Road ribbon was stitched to the backside so as to be able to close it in the front with a bow.

Bild
I included 20 layouts, all embellished and then sorted, glued together back-to-back, punched and bound into the album.

The papers are mixed –  some old, some new – Crate, October Afternoon, Sassafras, ILS, Basic Grey, Studio Calico, My Mind’s Eye and Pink Paislee.

Bild
As you can see, the general color scheme is white/pink/yellow/black and silver.

To keep the look consistent, I continually used silver sequins, splatters, flag/ banner shapes, butterfly stamps, old French newspaper, four types of washi, doilies, tickets, tags flowers and twine.

Different kinds of glue/dimensionals as well as stitching and mini staples were added to attach the embellishments.

Okay, and that’s it from me today, I hope you enjoyed and come back for the second part of the album next week.
