No wind, no rain or winter’s cold

… can stop me baby ;)
Because yesterday I bought some tights. And leggings. To wear under my jeans.

Yes, I know you’re having bright sunshine in Germany and just C-A-N-T stand how HOT it is!!! I just don’t care. And I don’t want to hear you going on about it. :P

Instead, I’m just gonna make you jealous about our FAB vacation in Sydney. HA!
Just click on the pics to zoom in and read the description:

It was actually hard to narrow them down to only 33 favourites (we took about 600 pictures in those 4 days), but I hope you like this little selection.

In the meantime, I’ve been busy doing some more assignments – I am now at the last 4 (from a total of 13). There are no words to describe how I will feel when I’m done with all that (will most likely be the case next Tuesday). That week (not the upcoming one) I’m probably flying to Wellington for some days. Then I’m headed towards the South Island (maybe visiting Heidi?! ^^) and I’m hoping to get to Milford Sound… we’ll see!

Have a great weekend and leave comment :)

Take it easy

… is a very good piece of advice from my mom. Now I “just” need to incorporate that into my life… toughie.

Anyhow, how are you?
I’m doing okay, just busier than ever… learning for a med test (pool of 260 questions… arghh) and trying to do my presentation for Thursday… oh well.

Yesterday, Ngawini & I went to The Comediettes, t’was a nice change from my tight schedule and we had a very enjoyable evening :)

The next post will include some pics from our trip to Sydney, but for now: on to some cards!! (Disclaimer: flower parade ahead!)

Here’s a card based very loosely on this card and the idea of making a ribbon rose (seems like handmade flowers are all the rage at the moment, so I couldn’t resist ;) ). There’s lots of American Crafts on there (solid structured CS for the panels and a bit Dear Lizzy for leaves), the cardbase is Stampin’ Ups Sahara Sand.

A close-up of the thickers, partly adhered with dimensionals (yes, some little kitty snuck into the background ^^).

This is my version of Kristina’s Gathered Paper Flower with some Dear Lizzy patterned paper and a BasicGrey button. Pretty straightforward.

And last but not least an absolutely shameless CASE of this stunner on the cover of Papercrafts Magazine. I know that pears do not really scream “spring”, but maybe it says something about the ambiguity of having spring in Germany while being in autumnal New Zealand :) Btw some of those pears got a bit of a Crystal Effects treatment, probably only visible in the enlarged version of the photo.

That’s it for now, gotta go home. If you have any questions, let me know!
Thanks for looking and commenting!

Have a good Sunday evening (or morning)
Nina

P.S. Since I CASE a lot, I really liked these wise words about inspiration (via Studio Calico) [taken for granted that telling where inspiration is from is a common courtesy that everyone should recognize]:

Holiday Photos

Hey there!
How’s it going?
Yesterday I survived a birthday party with twelve screaming 5/6 year-olds (and I painted their faces!) :)

I guess with my recent absence from this little blog-o here, the traffic has decreased considerably. At least the comments have. Anyway, I promised to show some pictures from the holidays (to my pretend audience) – did you know we shot about 2000 photos on our “2 weeks” trip? I have just edited a whole bunch of them (poor editing skills, but it’s better than nothing ;) ) and now I need to do some stuff for uni.

So without further ado, here are some pics we took in and around Auckland:

As usual, if you click on the photos you can enlarge the picture and there is a description of what you see :)

Anyhow, gotta go grab some lunch!
Enjoy and leave me a comment!

My newsprint fingers are turning a page

Hello all!
You might not believe it, but I’m still alive ;)
After two weeks of Easter break plus 1 1/2 weeks of unplanned extension of my holidays (thank you, volcano), I find myself buried under heaps of work. Not surprising, is it?
Today I’ve got a test and tomorrow there’s an essay due that I’ve spent the whole of the weekend on (which means I haven’t learnt a thing for the test yet… oh my).
Anyhow, I have not yet been able to edit all the pictures we took, but rest assured that the next post will contain some :) In the meantime, here are some cards I made recently, enjoy!

This one might remind you of a Finally Friday from some time ago and since I had this cute butterfly lying around, I tried my hand on it. Btw I have no idea why the coral panel is wavy, but I suspect it has something to do with Auckland entering monsoon season…

This and the third picture were shot with my new camera, whaddya think? :)

This card was for the birthday of a friend’s grandma. All the patterned paper is from the BG Lemonade 6×6 pad and yes, it took quite some time and glue-y fingers to create that background :)

Last but not least, this little card follows in the footsteps of the recent Finally Friday card by Kristina Werner. All sorts of goodness on here: a leftover strip MME, a snip of Pink Paislee ribbon, a label from SU with a sentiment from Prima and the little heart is a Dear Lizzy glitter sticker.

Gotta go look at some slides from my course now, I hope you have a great week and don’t forget to go and say “happy birthday” to my friend Thorsten! ;)

See you soon!
