My Wallet with your Photobooth Smile

Hey everyone!
How was your week?
I’m lying in my bed, on my nightstand there’s a cup of tea aaand I feel like I’m getting sick…

Anyway, as promised – some photos from the past weeks:

Oh yes, I went driving on the left side of the road, people !! We went outside Auckland (they drive so badly in the city, they’re said to be worse than Italians ^^), north to Orewa and then it was my turn to get into the driver’s seat. It was okay, roundabouts and traffic lights were no problem either. BUT being right-handed and trying to shift gears with the left arm? – Not very easy. Also on intersections they have this strange rule of cars turning left having to give way to cars turning right…

Concerning the title (lyrics from one of my favourite songs by Maximo Park): I finally found a new wallet. My old one was falling apart and I found a cute little number with ruched grey (faux) leather and stitching details. I also “found” this great tote by Kikki K. – enough space and adorable, too :)

I’m off now to have some breakfast and do some ironing and homework for my classes later.
Thanks for looking and have a great day!

A little less procrastination…

…a little more action! That’s just a concept so far, more of a rough plan than reality ^^

Where to start? Well tomorrow I’ll have spent a whole month down here!! Can you believe it? Craziness.

Now onto some pictures.

First of all, in my last post I teased you about the other idea I had when playing with the Sweet Kawaii set. (N° 1 was changing popsicles to easter bunnies) Voilà:

Uh yeah ^^ Meet “Birdie” a.k.a. the cute little candy from the Sweet Kawaii set (My Cute Stamps). I altered the stamped image (CS: SU Vanilla) by using a pen, making the mouth into a little pointy beak, and by drawing three little lashes on the left eye. I popped the image up with a dimensional, drew some legs and little curves to create movement of the wings.

All the patterned paper is from the Cosmo Cricket Girl Friday line, the label stamp is SU and the sentiment is from American Crafts. The ribbon is from the very lovely Kikki K. store in Auckland city :)
If you have any question, feel free to leave a comment!

Second, I told you that I modeled – it was for a shoe company and yes, the picture was featured on a shoe retailer magazine (not on page one – even better: On the back cover!). It was also printed as a big poster and used on the company’s stand on the GDS (International Shoe Fair Düsseldorf):

Oh yes, those are my (gigantic) knees ^^
Whaddya think? :)

Anyhow, if I find time I’ll post some photos I took in the last two weeks tomorrow!
Have a great day/night!!

It’s about time…

…I should post some cards! Dontchya think?

So without further ado, two of my first cards made in New Zealand:

This one refers to the Clean & Simple Sketch #81 btw. Great sketch, and so mail-friendly!!

I used SU Cardstock, patterned paper from the Lemonade 6×6 Paper Pad (Basic Grey), SUs Label punch, a black pen and the sentiment is from the Beyond Basic Borders set from Papertrey Ink stamped in Palette Noir.

The next one is an idea that had been in my head ever since I got that adorable Sweet Kawaii set (My Cute Stamps), or to be more precise: one of two ideas ^^ (such a tease!) Meet the popsicles aka the easter bunny gang:

Oh yes: Popsicle – Stick = Bunny
Sounds all logical to me :)
BTW The sentiment just popped into my head while making the card, it’s part of an Easter song we sung in English classes at school (back in 6th grade or something ;) ). Since I had no printer near me, I just wrote it onto Whisper White CS, cut that out as flags, bent them with a pencil, adhered and stapled ‘em down.

The paper is Basic Grey Lemonade, the card base is from Stampin’ Up. A Corner Chomper and a White Signo Broad Gel pen were harmed in the making of this card ;)

They look like they’re having a helluva lot of fun ;)

So, whaddya think?

Xoxo – Nina

ETA: Alice in Wonderland IN 3D (!!) was great! Loved every minute of it, such a cool and artistically worthwhile film!

For the meantime

Hello everybody!
It’s Sunday over here on the bottom of the globe and I am about to go to Albert Park.
First week of university is done and everything is coming along nicely so far.
But: There are just not enough hours in a day is all I’m sayin’. Hence the lack of posts.

On Tuesday we had the big welcome with a Maori ceremony (Powhiri) which included speeches in English and Maori, waiata (singing in between the speeches) and hongi (nose-pressing as a greeting). We were sitting in the sixth row, so we had the chance to see quite well. If you’d like to see some pictures, there was an official photographer taking those pictures.

Now onto some photos that were taken sometime between today and the last time I posted ;)

If you click on the pictures, you can see them full size and read the descriptions.
Two days ago I made my first card over here and it seems quite a bit more difficult without all the equipment that I normally use. Today I made three cards, so that’s a progress, I guess :)
Tonight we (= bunch of international students) are heading to the cinema to see Alice in Wonderland.

Have a great Sunday and don’t forget to leave me a comment :)
All the best!!
