And every time I hesitate I’m feeling kind of cold

G’morning everyone!
Not an awful lot to tell you this time, my head is feeling a little mushy b/c I didn’t sleep much the last two nights.

We got the result from Bucks blood test and yes, indeed, he’s got Leishmaniasis. So now he’s on medication and we’ll see how that goes. Otherwise he’s doing fine.
On Thursday we went to see Roman Holiday and I thought it to be a very cool movie. Gotta love that Audrey ;)
Now onto some cards I made not so long ago for a colleague:

silv konfi closeup

This went to a girl in her family for her confirmation.

I used Basic Grey’s chipboard letters to spell out “Alles Gute” (best wishes), the bird from Inkadinkado was stamped in Colorbox chalk ink (from the misty meadow queue) and embellished with a violet glitter pen.

silv kommu

This card was for the Holy Communion of her niece, so I needed something girly yet elegant. I used my SU! Priceless Butterfly along with some bling and Berry Sorbet Satin Ribbon from PTI. The base is shimmery white cardstock.

silv bday closeup

Last but not least I made her this one for her daughters 21st birthday. The sketch & idea came from A Year In Cards – March by Kristina Werner.

The brown & the brightly coloured paper are from BGs Offbeat Collection Pack. That’s also where the letter stickers came from, I pimped them with Glossy Glaze. The stapling technique can be seen on the TwoPeas class page I linked up above.

I better get going, Buck is waiting patiently for his walk. See you later!

Out

Wait until Dark

… yep, still Audrey weeks ;)
My friend Yoko and I went to see it yesterday, what a thriller!
On Thursday they’ll show “Roman Holiday” and I am determined to see that as well :)
The card down here was made for someone special with a sketch for the October Afternoon Challenge.:

Now I really have to hurry, our institute is hosting a lecture from a lady who works at the EU as an interpreter and maybe we can go into the booths and interpret that – you can never have too much practice!
Ah btw, did I tell you that in Charade Audrey plays a simultaneous interpreter?? As you might imagine, I was very delighted. :)

See ya!

Life is a Maze and Love is a Riddle

Good evening, everyone.
The weekend was… cool… and confusing. Anyhow, lookit what we did:

arrowsoul

Even though I did choose most of the colours, I have no idea about graffiti art. Generally I was only filling in some spaces and having my say (it’s my name after all, haha.) . But I thought it was totally fun!
All the credits for this very cool piece go to… well you know who you are, don’t you ;)

Yep, it says NINA and there you see my new nickname, arrowsoul girl. (See what he did there?) Hee. I think it’s awesome. Isn’t he talented? I think so. IRL the colours are much prettier and totally pop, I might have to take another picture with my camera tomorrow (this one was taken with my cell phone).

If you live in Heidelberg and want to take a look at it, it’s at site N° 4.
I’m off now listening to Justin Nozuka and slowly falling asleep.
Have a good night!

She would tell me a secret. I would lose it the next day.

It’s a great day for America – it’s Friday!! Yees, it’s Friday everyone…
Okay I’ll stop channeling Craig now.

First of all, I just got back from Karlstorkino, a little artsy movie place in Heidelberg. Currently there’re “Audrey” weeks and so tonight they screened “Charade” – one word: LOVE.
Imagine me doing a little happy dance here :)
It’s such a great movie!! Brilliant dialogues, an exciting plot and of course the legend that is Audrey Hepburn complimented by the wonderful acting of classic Cary Grant. Many scenes to laugh, to hold your breath, to smile…
I really recommend seeing this movie, I’ve definitely put it on my “favourites” list. I’ll probably buy the DVD if I can get hold of it somehow.

Now a totally different topic, something rather upsetting:

Buck has Leishmaniasis.

I knew there was something wrong with him getting some kind of nodes in his ears. When he had eye surgery one week ago they removed a small mucosal excrescence. The vet said they’d check on what it is and now they’re pretty sure he’s got Leishmaniasis. Which sucks. More than you can imagine. We don’t know yet how serious this is, they took a blood sample from him today. So I’ll tell you how the results are when we get them. I’ll go and hug and squeeze him a little now.
Have a good night!

P.S. The title is from The Fratellis, currently loving their song “Ole Black ‘n Blue Eyes” though the lyric comes from “For the Girl”.

Patience

Hey everyone, just a super quick post to show you my latest creation using buttons for Jenni’s Challenge:

notecard button

Okay true, it’s only one button. But it’s super big and it’s part of the focal point! :) Jenni is a SU! Demo from Germany and so I used Stampin’ Ups super cute Polka Dot Designer Series Paper in Pink Pirouette.

Hope you like it and thanks Jenni for letting us participate in this super fun challenge!

On another note, I’ve been participating in the Passion for Papertrey Challenge the last two times. They are celebrating 10,000 hits and even though this time there’s no challenge, there is some Candy! Yep, candy with a big C! You can win PTI’s 2008 Limited Edition Stamp Set – Everyday Classics which as you might know is not available for purchase!

Everyday-Classics-preview

Whaddya think? I think it’s really versatile with all the sentiments and I {heart} the cute star & the flower.

Anyhow, gotta go and do something for my lecture.
Tonight we have a little dinner from work, whee!
Have a great, sunny day!

I’m not… Wonderwoman!

This title is brought to you courtesy of “Black Books”.*

Now I’m warning you, lengthy post with loads of pictures ahead!
Ha, you’re still there. Well then, here we go:

I made a stationery set for a friend of mine, now I’ll show you the ensemble in all its glory ;)

ananas paper

As you can see, the first image depicts the 10 sheets of paper I stamped, the next three pics show the matching envelopes (I made 5 of each design) and the five final photos show the five coordinating cards of this set.

ananas env1

ananas env2

ananas env3

Now, what ties the set together can easily be seen:

First of all the paper – the basic paper is all the same kraft-like colour with a light structure (the envelopes look lighter in the pictures but IRL they’re the same colour), I added patterned paper from Basic Grey’s Wisteria Collection and of course some Very Vanilla, Dark Chocolate and Whisper White.

ananas one

Ink: 3 colours, namely PTI Dark Chocolate, Versacolor Amethyst and some Colorbox Frost White Pigment.

ananas two

Stamps: PTI Polka Dot Basics, PTI Mixed Messages, PTI Borders & Corners – Circles, Inkadinkado Birds Galore, Stampendous Mod Dot Butterfly.

ananas three

Ribbon: Papertrey Ink Plum Pudding in almost all its variations

ananas four

Accessories: punches (corner rounder!!), embossing powder, white & purple buttons, hemp twine, white thread, white gel pen, glossy accents… just to name a few ;)

ananas five

Yes, the zig-zag border on the last card is hand-stitched, it was very useful to poke in the holes beforehand (using the template from SU’s Mat Pack) in order not to bend the cardstock too much.

buck buddeln

I just got a message saying that Buck will have to have a light anesthesia on Friday morning. He has something in his eye and the doc apparently wants to make sure it’s nothing serious. Now I know it’s not dangerous and all, but you know how this is, yet still I’m worried. So if you could think of Buck on Friday, I’d be very thankful.

Have a good night!

*If you have no idea what this might be, go watch the following clip:

Watch it. Now. You know you will regret it if you don’t.

Matter of factly don’t know exactly what it is that you’ve got but you hit the spot

Aka the longest title I could think of :D

Now I don’t have a lot to tell you other than it’s been raining ever since I got home yesterday, so I’m not in the mood to do anything, really.
To cheer me up, I decided to participate in the October Afternoon Sketch challenge, here’s my entry:

OA challenge

The patterned paper is of course from October Afternoon, I included a little felt flower, a turquoise button and a rub-on (that you can barely see) with added Glossy Glaze for interest. Hope you like it!

Now I’m off to work on my presentation for English Cultural Studies, I’ll be talking about Jenney and the first skyscraper. My life is so exciting ;)

P.S.: Here’s a little sneak peek for the upcoming post. Enjoy!

Dance With Somebody

Happy Mothers Day everyone!

kwerner flowers
This is the card I sent my mom, if you think you’ve seen that before, you’re right. It’s a shameless CASE of Kristina’s Finally Friday Card “Flowers”. I loved it so much, I couldn’t resist. I hope my mom likes it, too :)
So for all the Germans out there: don’t forget to give your mom a call and/or a hug today!

Concerning the title of this post: The girls and I went dancing yesterday, and there actually was GOOD MUSIC!!
(Words to live[dance] by: Gud music I dance, not gud music I not dance)

Yay for “Rollercoaster” party @ Karlstorbahnhof! Very cool stuff, finest Brit pop/rock etc.

But one thing about parties: I don’t know if it’s just me, but d’you know when people walk by you and of course the place is crowded. So when they try to squeeze past you, they put their hand onto your arm or back?!! I. Hate. That. Exclamation Point! Drives me crazy. Also reminds me of those slimy guys that try to tell you something by whispering in your ear, but they kinda cup your head in their hand, arrrgggh this is so disgusting! Makes me seriously aggressive. My message: NO. TOUCHY. Got it?

new home limb

Anyways :D
The next card was made for the Passion for Papertrey: Recycle Challenge.

I’m not 100% happy with how the card turned out, but I’m showing it to you nonetheless.
The recycled part is of course the house cut out of old “Le Monde” news (from an edition printed on December 6th 1997! Hee).

Papertrey stuff: Dark Chocolate Ink (my all-time favourite!!!), Landscape Palette Ink, Out on a Limb Rev. Stamps and Dark Chocolate Satin Ribbon.
Maybe you like it more than I do, the friend I made it for definitely did, hehe. Mission accompli ;)

I have to go for a walk with Buck now, have a great Sunday!

Love Potion N°9

Hey everybody,
I have to apologize for yet another really quick post, I had a super lazy weekend (did nothing for the Monday Conference or anything else for uni *oops*) and before I finally fall asleep, I just wanted to show you the card I made with the “Passion for Papertrey” challenge in mind:

friend-challenge-dicker-vogel

The challenge was to make a card for a friend with at least one Papertrey Ink product. I incorporated: PTI Mixed Messages (“friend” & “birthday wishes”), PTI Polka Dot Basics and PTI Plum Pudding Double Stitched Grosgrain.

This card is from an ensemble I made for a friend, I’ll post some more photos of it probably later this week.

Have a good night!
